A Fit Chic Love Story ..

Thank you For Always Loving, Supporting, and Encouraging in This Journey we Call Life!!
Thank you For Always Loving, Supporting, and Encouraging in This Journey we Call Life!!

Over the past fifteen years  my husband Chris and I have owned and/or worked at a gym,(it’s actually where we met and feel in love) we realized the importance of loving what you do. Not only the importance it had on us, but the importance it had on our clients as well.

When I was stuck at a job that I was not passionate about, I lacked the “love” because I wasn’t utilizing my talents, and my heart was just not in it.

When I found my true path at our gym  CPMFITness.  I began to see the true meaning of “loving” what you do, and making others around you love it too!

Chris and I are so devoted to CPM because it had changed our lives, and we wanted everyone else to feel the same “Love”.

The “Love” is spreading and it is so motivating to watch! Members are loving their results, loving their workouts, they are loving themselves and the CPM community!

Chris and I love each and every member, and in return they have found love for themselves and are able to share that love with new members and fellow members around them!

When workouts are hard, we would pour on the “love” and the members push through. When problems arise in their personal lives, we want our members to feel the  the “love” from CPM to help them get through it.

We realized that so many of us get beaten down from our jobs, day to day stress, and the negativity of those around us; So CPM and Fit Chic want to give you what we really needed; “LOVE”!

When you have a community that loves you for you, it is amazing how great you feel to be a part of it! I remember when we sold our 1st gym, the most touching words from all of our members were “you made us feel like we were the only ones in the gym, and you can really tell how much you “love” what you do!”

You only live life once, and when you love what you do you are able to affect the lives of many because of your passion for it!

So don’t be afraid to share the love, you will be amazed at the people you will touch and be touched by!

What is something you “love” fit ones?

Tune Out the Noise and Focus on the Game

Super Bowl Sunday LI took place last night, between the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots. Both teams have put in a lot of hard work and dedication to get to this final game.

With the weeks prior leading up to this event, there has been so much “noise” about the New England patriots;  especially Tom Brady. (I know we have all heard it and are so over it). The media, late night talk shows, newspapers, sports shows are all capitalizing on tension between the commissioner, coach, TB, deflate gate 2.0 etc .. Through all the “noise” there was little focus on what really mattered #thegame.

Media isn’t speaking about the one thing that had brought millions in front of the the t.v. this past sunday night … FOOTBALL!

Even if the media does want to focus on the drama, even then they do not choose to focus on the fact that Bill Belichick has been an successful coach of New England since 2000. He has taken the team to 7 super bowls winning 5 of those games, and has 246 wins the most by any New England coach in the franchise.

While Brady is not a stranger to success either. He and Joe Montana are the only quarterbacks to win multiple MVP awards (winning 4). In 2010 Brady was voted best player in the NFL, and has the most consecutive passes without interceptions and he was the first quarterback to throw for 50 or more touchdowns in a season and to put the icing on the cake he has won multiple Super Bowl titles including the most super bowl championships of any QB.

Years and years of success day in and day out and we are choosing to focus on one day in time that in the whole scheme of things really holds no clout or meaning to the whole picture. Brady and Belichick can choose to let the “noise” keep them from their goals, or they can have the goal tune out the noise.

There is “noise” all around us and it is our responsibility to tune it out and focus on our mission, our passion, and our purpose.

It’s Time To Write Your Goals….

Looks Like Mr. Mello has done some serious goal-setting!
Looks Like Mr. Mello has done some serious goal-setting!

I stress the importance of goal-setting often. It is such a vital part of our success in everything we do. If we have no goals then we have no direction or motivation to step out of everyday routine and get uncomfortable!

When meeting with my clients I ask them to tell me exactly what they want and how they want to utilize me to get them there.

More than half of my clients don’t even know what it is they want. They will say things like “I want to be thin” and when I ask them to draw a picture of explain what “thin” looks like in their mind, they are stumped on what to say next.

We have a these thoughts that run through our head daily of what we want or think we are entitled too, but when it comes down to it we don’t even know where to begin to get there!

Here is a great article from an Intentional Leadership Speaker by the name of MIchael Hyatt. He lists the 5 reasons it is so important to write down your goals.

Writing your goals puts your vision on paper and helps you visualize a path to get you there. Goal setting sets you apart from all the people around you who “talk” about what they want, but never do anything or write anything to get them there!

Take 20 minutes and just write down some goals you would like to attain. Write them for the month, 3 months, 6 months, and the year and then each month reevaluate them and make necessary changes to get you to being the “Best You Can Be”!

3….2…..1… Write……

What Is Your Path Fit Ones?

I was recently listening to a Pierce Morgan Oprah Interview. He was asking some wonderful questions and one in particular that Oprah’s answer really got my attention!

He asked her why she had not ever run for office? He went on to say how great she would be at this and she replied with “It’s not my road” … She then said “I know my road and see it so clearly, that I don’t veer off of it” .

He then proceeded to ask her “What Her Road Was”? She said her road led to make people believe in themselves and help them find their true identity. She had no desire to run a country or serve in office because that did not follow suit to her “life Plan”.

This was so profound for me and made me want to immediately write down what my road was and were my actions and decisions leading me to my destination or was I taking myself on unnecessary unwanted detours?

I feel the older i get the more decisions I am faced with and sometimes the harder it is to go down the “path” leading me then it is to take a different route even though the route will lead to a dead end and staying on my path will get me to where I want to be!

So I challenge you Fit Ones to not go on the path of least resistance .. but journey on the road that leads to the ultimate destination!

What is your path and where is it leading you?

A Fantastic Friday Quote ….

friday quote

The saying “Live each day as if there was no tomorrow” is very true. The more you step outside of your comfort zone, the more you can see what you are capable of accomplishing. You can also really learn how tough you really are!

Fit Chic’s Best Year Yet …

Do you ever look at someone’s life and wonder “Why that can’t be you”?

Did you ever think of the fact that it could? …

First step would be to get clarity on what it is you even want out of life i.e clear the confusion? Successful people are typically successful because they have identified what 1-3 things they want to excel at. Next start to write goals on how you can get there by following those 1-3 things. For example If I want to be psynonemous with fitness in the world, that is a Big Hairy Audacious Goal and how am I ever going to get there?

Here’s How:

Define your 1-3 behaviors that will get you to your goals. What actions or steps do I have to take to daily to do this ….

  1. Tell 1 person everyday about CPMFITness
  2. Place a Video or picture, or quote each day on @ least one social media outlet
  3. Pre-Plan your day the night before .. and have Non-negotiables in your life to not allow yourself to get off track.

If I do those three simple things day in and day out .. I will get to that goal. it seems so simple Right? Well it is simple but not easy. The difficult part is getting out of my own way. For example not being afraid to tell people about how great CPM and Fit Chic are (which they are so why wouldn’t I tell people)..Being mindful of always promoting and my business’s consistently everyday day in and day out (rinse, wash, repeat mode).

Last, I will visualize and write exactly how I want my day to be and then not let anything distract me or take me off course (within reason) from getting that day!

If you choose to do this day in and day out .. when you are tired, frustrated, unmotivated etc … and make this a habit see the wonderful growth that will take place in your life!

Now put that pen to paper and getting working on what it is you want from life and this 2017!

A New Year A New You …

A family friend of my husband’s has been married for 50 + years. Each January 1st he and his wife sat down and planned out their goals for the upcoming year. They talked about what they learned from the previous year, what they liked, what they disliked, and how they were going to make this upcoming year the best one yet.

They said it was the greatest thing to look back on all the years of goal planning and really get to see their journey together.

So yesterday my husband and I went to a local coffee shop got out our pen and paper and started writing. We went through highlights from 2016, and points that we wanted to change from the previous year. We talked about lessons that we learned and what we ultimately had gotten out of 2016.

We then wrote down our goals for 2017. Some were very simple while others were a bit more complex, but they all had a direction and purpose of moving forward and really utilizing all the wonderful things that life has to offer and taking full advantage of all that you are capable of doing!

We then took a picture of each other and our goals, so that years from now we can say how young and good-looking we once were :]

So for the first blog of 2017, I encourage you Fit Ones to utilize this same exercise!

They say when you make your goals a daily visual you are more likely to make them a reality.

Now I want you to answer the following questions:

1. What were some highlights of the past year?

2. What were some things I would like to change from this past year?

3. In what ways did I grow this past year?

4. What are my goals for 2017?

5. How am I going to reach those goals (i.e. a plan of attack)?

Write them and then take a picture of your goals and you with your goals and post them somewhere that will be in your eyesight daily to remind you what it is you truly want for 2017 year, and the steps you are going to take to make it happen!

Top 5 Healthy Habits for the New Year …

With the New Year approaching, Resolutions, Effective Workout Routines, and healthy eating habits are on the brain. With another year approaching information on “New Year’s Must Do’s” are on overload!

So what can you do Fit Ones to make this your best year yet?

Here are my top 5 tips to develop a healthy happy life in 2017!

  1. Drink More Water – You need to stay hydrated all day every day, not just when it’s hot outside or you’re sweating it out at the gym. “When it’s cold we forget that,” Baumrind says. “Focus on making sure you’re drinking enough water” by employing tricks like keeping a water bottle at your desk or using an app to track how much you’re drinking. If you drink lots of sugary drinks, try swapping them for unsweetened seltzer water (if the bubbles are what you crave) or fruit-infused water
  2. Workout in the am – It is very easy to let excuses, time, other tasks get in the way of your workouts and your overall success. We can have the best “intentions” to workout out, but life just seems to keep getting in the way. Your morning is the key to success; it can be a routine that sets your day off to great start and it can start your day off to not so great too. I have never been a morning person, but I have made my morning ritual such a habit that now the “know” of how good I will feel over weighs the un-want to get up. I wake up around the same time everyday. I might vary an hour or so depending on what time I go to bed. This keeps your body in a routine making it much easier to get up in the am. Set your workout clothes on your alarm .. Now you have to pick them up, making it much easier for you once they are in your hand to put them on!
  3. Create a routine thats effective and manageable – Here are some great tips and tricks from a previous blog I posted to making routine effective, manageable and fun all in one.
  4. Finding More Effective Ways to Manage Stress –  stress eating is a bad habit for so many people. By finding other ways to cope with stress, you’ll slowly stop turning to food for comfort. Whether it’s reading a good book, getting a manicure, cooking, going for a run, or whatever else helps you blow off some steam and regroup, find something that helps you unload your stress other than food.
  5. Pre Planning Everything – I plan my meals on saturday afternoon and then make at least two to three meals on Sunday so I know that until Wednesday or Thursday I won’t have to worry about food. I can’t begin to express the stress that is involved with what to make, how to make, and when to make food … This is a professional approach that will make you very successful in your nutrition and other aspects of planning in your life. I also look at my week ahead and pre-plan all my workouts and sign in to my classes, so I have committed and will not back out!

Make this upcoming year your best one yet!!

8 Fit Steps to Greatness …

Always remember you are Braver than you believe Stronger than you seem Smarter than you think & twice as Beautiful as you'd ever Imagined

I was listening to a great sermon by Pastor Mark Brewer Sunday morning and he was speaking about the 8 rules that the Navy Seals live by to get through not only buds but through combat training and battle.

#1 Happiness makes you successful and it makes you have purpose and meaning in all that you do. You notice that people with a purpose tend to be more successful then people who are just living life day to day with no real direction.

#2 Don’t Focus on the Struggle Focus on the End Result: Make your purpose stronger than any road block. When you are definitive about what it is you want and the vision is clear it is a lot more difficult to get off track. It also allows us to hinder from temptations or complacency when we have a strong focus.

3. Make it a game – Have fun with it if you are doing a workout with 5 rounds just get through round 1 then go to round 2 etc… then before you know it yiou are on round 5 and done with the workout. Come in with a positive fun mindset. If you are dreading your workout and have a bad attitude the workout is going to be less more enjoyable then the first choice.

4. Be Confident but Realistic – The Navy Seals have a slogan “A Cocky Man is a Deadman”.  – Be humble but believe in yourself at the same time. I have a saying I use often in workouts and I repeat it over and over “I can, I will, I must”. It really helps me in times I start to lack confidence or question my ability.

5. Prepare Prepare Prepare – They say the Navy Seals spend 75% of their time working on their preparation and skill and 25% of the time they are actually deployed. When we are prepared we then feel more confident and comfortable to challenge ourselves and prove you can do things you didn’t believe possible because that is where the magic happens.

6. Give Help and Take Help – When you are helping others it is not only rewarding for you and makes you better, you are helping and inspiring in the process … It is easy to become a hermit when we are feeling stressed, down on ourselves, or depressed, but the best thing we can do is surround ourselves by the people who can help. Being around a positive encouraging environment will improve your mood and attitude as well.

7. Celebrate Small Wins – Don’t live a life of “I will be happy when” I lose 20 lbs, have more money, get in better shape etc… GET HAPPY NOW and you will enjoy the journey to your goals so much more and a piece of advice you are more likely to hit your goals as well!

8. Last But Certainly Not Least Smile – I say this in yoga a lot “Smiling Makes Everything Better”. Remember when you were a kid and you were in a bad mood and your siblings or parents would make you laugh; 5 minutes later you didn’t even know what you were mad about ….. When you smile you naturally feel better. At CPM rule #2 is “FUN is FIRST”! If you are not smiling and having a good time why do it?

Take these rules into consideration when choosing actions, thoughts, goal planning etc …. I am so fascinated by how powerful our minds our and how we can do some many wonderful things for us and others if we just use some simple tools to stay on track.
