We Love Fitness Friday’s at KDLT! Here is a great way to have fun and stay fit with your family.
I think one of the biggest hurdles we face in our life of fitness, is that you have to be at a gym in order to get a good workout ….. WRONG!
Here are the top five exercises that will leave you looking and feeling great and you don’t even have to leave your living room to do them!
#1 Burpees– a recent study done by doctors and fitness professionals proved that the burpee was the best exercise for your total body. If you don’t know what a burpee is here is a quick video explaining the movement…..
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvajtD5T2oc]#2 Pushups – Similar to the burpee this is a great way to get your abs, arms, and some cardio in the process. If it is too difficult to do this off your knee bring your knees to the ground. Make sure that your head stays neutral, keep your core tight, and hit that chest to the floor.
#3 The Squat – These are great for the butt and thighs and you can do them while watching your favorite show on t.v. Keep the feet hip width apart toes slightly pointed out. Push that butt back so your weight is in your heels and lower your butt below parallel. If you get a good pace going these are great cardio movement as well.
#4 The sit-up – Lye flat on your back knees bent Bring your chest to your knees and then lower your self down till your shoulder blades hit the ground and repeat. Do a 50 to 100 a day and watch those abs get tight!
#5 The Mountain Climber – Similar to the pushup these are not only great for your arms, abs, and legs, they leave you feeling completely out of breath! Here is a video demonstrating a mountain climber so you know exactly what is in store for you!

Here are 3 combinations to use that utilize the above exercises and will make you feel fantastic!
#1 50 Burpees and 50 situps for time.
#2 21-18-15-12-9-6-3 Squats, pushups, mountain climbers
#3 10-1 burpees, squats, situps, mountain climbers
3….2….1…. Go!!!
