There is nothing more delicious on a hot summer day then a delicious smoothie to keep that pep in your step!
I love smoothies in the summers because they are refreshing, I can put the essential vitamins and minerals I need in one swoop, and they taste delicious!
Here are 5 recipes to mix and match so that you will not get tired of the recipes either.
#1 The Green Goddess:
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 cup of spinach
1/2 of a banana
1 scoop of sunbutter or almond butter
1 scoop of whey protein ( you can do vanilla or chocolate)
ice
Directions: In a large blender combine all ingredients until you have a thick “shake-like” consistency.
#2 Chocolate Heaven:
1 avocado
2 Tablespoons of honey
2 Tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
4 pieces of cut frozen banana
1 cup unsweetened coconut milk
1 cup of ice
Directions:
Place ice in the blender then remove pit and skin from the avocado and place in the blender with the remaining ingredients and blend on high.
#3 Strawberry Dream:
1 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 frozen banana cut into pieces
6 frozen strawberries
2 tablespoons of unsweetened coconut
1 cup of ice
1 scoop of vanilla whey protein
Directions:
Place ice in the blender and combine all ingredients and blend
#4 Cherry Smoothie
Ingredients:
1 cup pitted, canned or fresh cherries
2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup coconut or almond milk
1/2 frozen banana
Sprinkle with grated dark chocolate and coconut shavings
Directions:
Blend all ingredients in a blender until mixed throughout
#5 Apple Pie Smoothie
1 cup chopped, peeled apples (Granny Smith is best)
1 tbsp. honey
1 tsp. cinnamon powder
1/2 tsp. vanilla essence
1/4 cup raw cashew nuts or cashew butter
1 cup coconut milk
Directions:
Combine ice in a blender with the remaining ingredients and blend on high until ingredients are completely blend
