I am currently right smack dab in the middle of “The Fittest Chic Challenge”. It is a weight loss challenge that I am doing with a group of women I train.
Each week, I create mini challenges within the “Big” challenge to keep them on track during the 7 weeks.
This week I challenged the women to write down the top ten things they love about themselves. Now this seems like an easy task, but the initial response surprised me. The women automatically were concerned they would not be able to come up with ten things…
huh…..?????
Why are we so good at complimenting everyone else and not ourselves? Why is it so hard to say what we like about ourselves and so easy to say all that is wrong with us. If you think about it, they both take the same energy but 1 option has far greater benefits than the later choice.
One of the traits that really attracts me about certain women is their self-confidence. Their ability to acknowledge compliments and feel good about themselves on the inside and out.
Why shouldn’t we love ourselves? What is not to love? Why do we choose to focus on the negative about ourselves instead of all the positive attributes we have to offer.
Along with the initial writing of the ten things they love, they also had to rewrite them each day and read them out loud to someone.
Low and behold, they started to really believe it and began to feel really good about it as well!
So today I challenge you Fit Ones to write down the top 5 things that you love about yourself, and for the next 7 days write them down each day and read them out loud to someone!
Begin to love yourselves for the beautiful you that you are!!!
Here are my five:
1. I have great abs
2. I am a good cook
3. I am caring
4. I am tenacious
5. I love my eyes
