It is very easy as humans to let ourselves off the hook, or tell ourselves what we want to hear instead of doing what we know is the “best” for us.
We have all had situations in our lives where we know what we are doing is not healthy but we somehow talk ourselves into telling that inner self that it is ok, or even “good” for us.
Why?
Is it because we are so afraid of succeeding that we want to self-sabotage? Is that we are too weak, too stubborn, etc?
I recently had a situation where I was supposed to work on a specific project so that I could take my business to the next level. I scheduled time in my planner each week down to the specific blocked out hours to work on this. Week after week I avoided this project like the plague. I allowed anything and everything to get in the way to the one task that would really help me take my business to the next level, and why???
Because I was scared and comfortable! I was so scared that my project would be a failure that I was putting the most inordinate tasks in front of it. I also was too comfortable and I wasn’t in that “sink or swim” frame of mine ( I wasn’t hungry enough).
Here is a great article from msn.com on the “The top ten health lies you are telling yourself”.
Where do you stand in this list Fit Ones, and how are you going to make a conscious decision to change it?
Just remember its the day-to-day small steps in life that lead to the big success’.
