I had written a blog a couple of months ago about how to eat healthy without eating your whole pay check.
Since this blog I have made it a priority to really put this to the test. I had a goal to go to the grocery store and save more than I spent. Now this was a lofty goal but I was bound and determined to do it!
Low and behold last friday I accomplished my ultimate challenge and saved more than I spent.
My total came to $69 dollars and my total savings was dun dun dunna……. $71.oo. I was as giddy as a kid on Christmas Eve and I could not wait till Monday came along to tell you all how I got to this point.
I have attached my blog and have included some additional helpful hints to get all you Fit Ones on track!

Usually Wednesdays is the day that the grocery stores put out their weekly specials. Grab these, go through them quickly and see what stores are offering the best specials for the groceries you are looking for that week. This is a very efficient and easy way to save money and time in the grocery store.

Shop clearance – in the stores (especially meat section) there is a clearance section. The meat is still perfectly fine but the date is either that day or the next couple days. You can either use it the day of or stick it in the freezer for a later use. I recently saved $22 on top sirloin steaks by doing this. They also have a clearance section for non refrigerated items and this is also a great way to stock up for half the cost.
By utilizing all of these tricks you will be on your way to having your wallet weigh down your pants not your waistline!
What changes are you going to make to keeping not only your wallet full, but your belly full as well?
